Belgrade again on the world tennis map

All tennis fans will be thrilled to know that the city of Belgrade will once again host the world's top tennis players, as the ATP tournament will be played in Belgrade again.

Belgrade again on the world tennis map

We all know how popular tennis has become in this region during the last decade. This is mostly thanks to Novak Djokovic and his tennis success, which, both directly and indirectly, influenced the popularity of this sport.

Tennis has definitely transformed, and once a sport reserved primarily for the wealthy, it has become universally popular and almost omnipresent in every part of our country. Due to the general expansion, more and more children took the rackets in their hands and started making their first tennis steps. The veterans also realized that with "slightly less" intensity, but with equal enthusiasm and love, this sport can be played even in their eighties, and when the birth date no longer allows it, there are always doubles and opportunities for phenomenal socializing and enjoying this mild physical outdoor activity.

Exactly because of all the above, many Serbs, as well as other tennis fans in the region have a strong desire to enjoy watching top tennis professionals live.
TV screens are maybe not small any longer and the sports commentator Viskovic's broadcasts and comments are really fantastic, however, watching matches of top 10 tennis players is something completely different when sitting in the courts and when you feel firsthand the speed of tennis balls and the skills of tennis gladiators who leave their last atoms of strength in the court.

Thanks to Novak again, the Belgrade clay will be the meeting place of the biggest names in tennis after a ten-year break, because the capital of Serbia was again awarded the organization of the ATP tournament, which will be organized from April 19 to 25, 2021.

Serbia Open is an ATP 250 series tournament that used to be organized in Budapest, but is moving to Belgrade this year, as the ATP management approved the relocation of the tournament from Hungary and Serbia.

The Serbia Open tour director is Đorđe Đoković, who already performed the same role this summer when he was the director of Adria Tour tennis tournament. The tournament will be extremely competitive because some of the best players on the tour today will participate. Apart from Novak - the best tennis player in the world, Belgrade will welcome Dominic Thiem, Stan Wawrinka, three Grand Slam winners, including the famous Gael Monfils, Italian Mateo Beretini, as well as Aslan Karacev, sensational semifinalist of this year's Australian Open and winner of the Dubai tournament.

There are also announcements that Belgrade will host the WTA tournament, which would start on May 16 this year, a week before Roland Garros, and we from Novi apartmani are especially looking forward to it! We should, anyway, wait for the official confirmation on this topic.

What we are absolutely sure of is that the new Serbia Open will be organized on the courts of the tennis center "Novak" in Dorcol and we hope that the situation and regulations will allow the presence of a certain number of spectators and audiences next to the court. In any case, this is really an ideal occasion to visit Belgrade and enjoy its charms responsibly, and we’re looking forward to the charms of the „white sport“ that we will be able to enjoy by top players. Therefore, just in case, make sure you find yourself the accommodation in Dorcol area in order to be near this great sporting event.
