Advice on money and payment in Serbia

Dinar (RSD) is the official currency of the Republic of Serbia and the only currency that can legally be paid in Serbia, except in special cases prescribed by law.

In circulation banknotes in denominations:

  • 10 dinars - with portrait of Vuk Karadzic
  • 20 dinars - with portrait of Petar II Petrovic Njegos
  • 50 dinars - with portrait of Stevan Mokranjac
  • 100 dinars - with portrait of Nikola Tesla
  • 200 dinars - with portrait of Nadezda Petrovic
  • 500 dinars - with portrait of Jovan Cvijic
  • 1.000 dinars - with portrait of Djordje Vajfert
  • 2.000 dinars - with portrait of Milutin Milankovic
  • 5.000 dinars - with portrait of Slobodan Jovanovic

 

It is also possible to pay for all types of cards, and if you want to get cash, you have ATMs at every step.

Conversion of foreign currency into dinars, can be done in all banks and post offices as well as in authorized exchange offices in Belgrade.
