Belgrade Beer Fest 2017

In late August, Belgrade transforms into beer capital and great music venue during Belgrade Beer Fest, the largest festival of this kind in the region.

Belgrade Beer Fest 2017

Belgrade Beer Fest, the largest and most popular beer festival in southeast Europe has been organised since 2003 and each year is the favourite destination of more than half a million beer lovers and music enthusiasts. In addition to this great number of visitors coming to this festival every year, the guarantee of quality of this very festival are numerous domestic and international awards during this 15-year-long tradition. This is why it’s become, quite justly, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Serbia.

This year Beer Fest takes place from August, 16-20 and these five days promise unforgettable partying, accompanied by various music performers. Traditionally, the venue is Usce in New Belgrade. There’s a common misconception that the location itself – the huge grass area with a lot of stages and beer stands packed with friendly staff offering different beers, is primarily reserved for the younger visitors. However, the offer of more than a hundred different types of this cold beverage and high-quality music dominated by Serbian, regional and world-known performers, guarantee fantastic time, suitable for all ages.

The music programme this year will feature the well-known hip hop dance British band Stereo MCs, which will perform within the new festival area, on the second day, at around 1 a.m. This band emerged during 1980s and had hundreds of concerts all around the world with some major music awards and gained huge international reputation. For all of you who prefer the electronic sound, this year will host the famous Asian Dub Foundation which will perform on the first day of the festival, at around midnight.

For all the visitors fond of spectacular live performances of regional performers, this year’s festival will host Darko Rundek, Zabranjeno pušenje, Goblini, Hladno pivo, and Kiril Djaikovski. Of course, there will be some other bands, such as Van Gog, who will be on the opening ceremony, and also the legendary Riblja Čorba, the popular band S.A.R.S. with their most popular songs and many others.

The music programme starts every day at 18.00 and lasts until late in the night. The preparations for the festival are nearly finished and we can only hope that the current tropical temperature will come down a bit. However, if such high temperature prevails, be assured that the cold beer at the confluence of the two rivers is the best way to cool down during summer nights in Belgrade.

If you’re a genuine lover of beer and good sound, and you’re planning to visit Belgrade in this period, you simply must spend at least one evening at the famous Belgrade Beer Fest. That’s why web site noviapartmani.com recommends that you pick an apartment within the section New Belgrade which will be located in the vicinity of the festival, so you don’t need to worry about the transport.
