Belgrade Jazz Festival opens for the thirty-fifth time this year under the motto "Džez svetkovina - Jazz Celebration" at the Youth Center – the Belgrade’s iconic venue.

The thirty-fifth edition of the Belgrade Jazz Festival has the motto " Džez svetkovina - Jazz Celebration", and will be held from October 22-27, 2019. The special significance of this year's festival, and its anniversary edition, is reflected in the long tradition it holds.

For fans of jazz, music and art in general, as well as for the city of Belgrade, this event is a particularly important with increasing popularity and attendance each year. During the announced six days of the festival, about thirty concerts will be organised, alongside a rich programme as well as various jazz content. In addition to the Youth Center venue, the venue for the concerts will also be the Kombank Hall (the former Dom Sindikata venue). The concept of the event at the Kombank Hall is based on the tradition and history of jazz, while the Amerikana Hall will be more focused on the intriguing and exciting future of this always interesting music genre.

For all fans of this genre and music in general, for jazz experts and lovers of quality and good sound, this year the festival organizers have managed to gather some major and famous names of jazz music, as well as lesser known artists who are exploring and defining this genre today for some future generations.

Kombank Hall will host the famous Mingus Big Band, an orchestra with long-standing tradition that is today recognised as one of the best big bands in the world. In addition to this famous band, it is expected that the singer and jazz diva Dianne Reeves will also take the stage – definitely one of the greatest jazz musicians performing in the world today. The renowned flutist and saxophone player Charles Lloyd, known in the world of jazz as an improviser and innovator, renowned for combining jazz with other musical styles, will again perform in front of the Belgrade audience. Amerikana Hall will feature French violinist Théo Ceccaldi and sextet Freaks, as well as sextet Axes and Joao Mortagua.

This same venue will host some of the lesser known but certainly great talents, British trumpeter Henry Spencer and the quintet Juncture.
