In addition to being fun and, above all, providing fantastic entertainment for kids, ice skating is also a great sport to burn the calories collected during the holidays that are now behind us. Experts say that the average recreational ice skater will consume 400 calories for an hour of recreational ice skating, while a more advanced one will burn almost 1000 calories.

Forget about the calories for the time being. Burning them and getting back in shape is just an added value of this activity, which many Belgrade citizens adore and associate with the New Year and Christmas holidays, as well as the winter holidays. That’s when the city of Belgrade, at several locations, opens its ice skating rinks adapted to all ages and skills of skaters. This year is unfortunately different for the well-known circumstances, and there will not be those numerous skating rinks that we were so looking forward to.

However, this does not apply to Ada Ciganlija area, a natural oasis right next to the center of Belgrade, where the "Ada Winter City" will open this year as well, within which a skating rink will be operating in the immediate vicinity of „Belgrade Stonehenge“ locality, free of charge for all visitors. Children up to 7 years old will also be able to rent skates for free, while for adults the price of RSD 150 is really affordable.

As this is the outdoor sports activity and also due to the fact that the authorities from the public enterprise "Ada Ciganlija" take very seriously the prescribed epidemiological measures, we think that this activity is really safe and fully compliant with the Decree on measures for prevention and suppression of infectious diseases COVID-19, adopted by the competent authorities of the Republic of Serbia.

The working hours of the ice rink are every day from 10:00 to 20:00, and free skating on the illuminated skating rink of Ada Ciganlija can be enjoyed throughout the day in five time slots: from 10:00 to 11:30, from 12:00 to 13:30, from 14:00 to 15:30, 16:00 to 17:30 and 18:00 to 20:00.
