Belgrade is a city with so many areas near water where you can properly cool off, relax and enjoy the culinary specialties during hot summer days.

Belgrade swimming areas - finally open!

After a long wait, as June had so many rainy, almost autumn-like days, the 2023 summer season finally kicked off at the swimming pools and Ada Ciganlija beach. Of course, other favorite swimming pools all around Belgrade are soon to follow.

This summer, the swimming pools in our capital were the first to welcome their guests and in accordance with the decision of the city authorities, the entrance is free for all Belgrade residents who, with a special personalized card, will be able to use all the city's public swimming pools completely free of charge between 12:00 and 19:00. In other times of the day, as well as for all those who do not have, or are not eligible for a swimming pool card, the all-day ticket for swimming pools will be charged at an average of 500.00 RSD for adults.

Sports centers "Milan Gale Muškatirović", "Olimp", "Tašmajdan", "Novi Beograd", "Voždovac", "Košutnjak", as well as the swimming pools in Mladenovac and Obrenovac will be a perfect retreat for all of us from the heat of the Belgrade streets. And again, all free of charge this year for Belgrade residents.

This year's summer swimming season at Ada Ciganlija Lake officially began on June 23, when buoys were placed and lifeguards took up their positions on observation decks and water scooters throughout the lake with the aim of making swimming in the "Belgrade sea" as safe and pleasant as possible. There are, of course, so many cafes and restaurants throughout the Ada complex that are more than ready to offer their visitors a perfect service and to make them feel as if they were right by the sea. Also, let’s not forget that the quality of water here in Ada is outstanding and the lake is a well-deserved owner of the blue flag, as a guarantee of the high quality of both the water and the beach.

Belgrade, of course, has two incredible rivers that provide numerous places where you can enjoy the summer heat. Some of these locations are well-known and easily accessible, like the island Lido, while others can be reached by boats, which just adds to the unique experience. Ada Međica, Bela stena, Swimming area Ivanovo and Sprudovi are some of them, but we must not forget that in most cases these beaches are not entirely organized and do not have specialized services and lifeguards, except for Lido beach, which is not yet officially open. As a tradition, the Serbian Army installs a pontoon bridge which is functional until the end of August and which will enable all fans of this swimming area to easily get to and from Lido.

If you’re planning to visit Belgrade during these summer days, make sure you take the opportunity and enjoy the banks and beaches of rivers and lakes here in Belgrade. If you’re not in a mood, however, you don't even have to take a swim, but in that case, pick one of the numerous apartments from the section Apartments with Jacuzzi where you can enjoy the intimacy of a fully private spa center and relax your body and mind at very affordable prices.
